Where Custom Porcelain Dolls are My Specialty

There is a story behind little Miss Grace. As I mentioned in my introduction I teach dollmaking classes in my studio. Grace's Mom and her Grandmother became students in early January 2003. At that time they proudly announced that there was going to be a baby sometime in July. It was with great caring and interest that the class and I all watched Mom's tummy getting bigger and bigger - then we learned that it was to be a baby girl and tried to help decide on this baby's name. Grace's Mom came to doll class the week before she was born. She was obviously going to have this baby any minute and was very uncomfortable - we teased her but I think each one of us was secretly watching her out of the corner of our eyes. I made sure no other students were parked behind Grandma's car just in case a fast trip to the hospital was in order. Little Grace was born a few day later on July 14/02 and came to visit us at doll class 2 days later. We all fell in love instantly and knew this little girl was a special part of Wednesday evening doll class.

Like all of us, Grace like to be clean and pampered. She is 6 weeks old in this photo.

Here she sits at 8 weeks old with a pretty bow in her hair

Here is our little Miss Grace with her big brother Nicholas -4 years old and big Sister Gillian age 2. Grace is 3 months old.
